Why it matters

Most of being an executor is paperwork: finding accounts, notifying institutions, tracking deadlines and keeping records. EstatePath does the organizing so you can do the deciding.

How it works

Four steps. You stay in control.

  1. Upload what you have: will, death certificate, bank and bill statements (photos are fine).
  2. Get your inventory. Accounts, assets, debts and recurring bills are pulled into one list.
  3. Get your plan. A state-specific checklist in order, with deadlines and a call log.
  4. Send the letters. Notification and account-closure letters are pre-filled for you to review, sign and send.

What you get back

Sample plan (illustrative)

  • Week 1: Order certified death certificates. Locate the original will.
  • Inventory: Checking account at Bank A (found on 3 statements); auto-pay to Utility B; life insurance premium to Insurer C.
  • Letter ready: "Notice of death and request for account information, Bank A".
  • Check: does your state allow a simplified (small-estate) procedure? The criteria for your state are listed.

FAQ

Questions

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

A chatbot gives you general steps. EstatePath reads your actual documents, keeps one running inventory, tracks what has been done, and produces letters with the right account details. It's a workspace that remembers the whole estate, not a one-off answer.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. EstatePath is an organizing and drafting tool, not a law firm. For contested estates, large or taxable estates, or legal questions, consult a probate attorney.

How does it compare?

Comparable executor tools range from $39 (SwiftProbate) to $199 (EstateExec) to $175–$499 (Atticus).

What about the documents?

They are used only for your plan and deleted on request or 30 days after you close the workspace.
